About The Position

Chief Buildings is seeking a 1st shift Maintenance Technician to join the Chief team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing advanced maintenance and repairs on facility and industrial equipment. You'll enhance productivity by installing new machinery, designing and implementing electrical systems, programming PLCs, and maintaining detailed documentation of your work. This position also involves participating in ongoing training programs to support skill development and ensure compliance with safety standards. To be successful in this role, you should be mechanically and electrically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • Proficient in mechanical systems such as pneumatics and hydraulics, and electrical systems including PLCs and variable frequency drives.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities with a proven track record of resolving equipment issues efficiently.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Prior experience in a Maintenance Mechanic or similar industrial maintenance role.
  • Competent in basic computer operations, with strong math skills and the ability to write clear, detailed maintenance reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on industrial equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Install, modify, and maintain machinery and systems to support optimal performance and production goals.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, tape measures) to perform accurate repairs and adjustments.
  • Perform general building maintenance tasks including construction, plumbing, concrete work, and carpentry to support facility upkeep and reconstruction projects.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment to move materials as needed.
