About The Position

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician for our Lockport, NY Operations. Our Maintenance Technicians are part of a highly skilled team that is critical to ensuring large industrial equipment and systems are fully operational for continuous production and to consistently meet production goals. Maintenance Technicians perform all maintenance functions (mechanical or electrical/electronic) necessary to maintain all operating and service equipment using standard and specialized tools and equipment including mobile equipment as required. In order to become successful, you’ll have to quickly learn ATI, our manufacturing equipment/systems, and our maintenance program. A successful Maintenance Technician is a problem-solver and strong with troubleshooting, determining corrective actions, and identifying opportunities to enhance production efficiencies without compromising quality. Workplace safety is a core value and Maintenance Technicians play a vital role in our safe operation and processes. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be required to work in a variety of plant areas/departments, environmental conditions (hot, cold, dirty, etc.), and perform work at various heights and within some confined spaces. As part of our Union Maintenance Team, you must be willing to work all shifts in our 24/7 operation, including rotating shifts. Based on the need, overtime may be available including other shifts and weekends. As part of pre-employment, a mechanical maintenance skills assessment will be required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least two years of electrical and/or mechanical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
  • Effective communication skill with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong ability to work independently without direction, and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of industrial electrical experience OR 2-year associate's degree in industrial electricity or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Obey all plant safety rules and procedures at all times. Including wearing proper PPE.
  • Install, repair and service electrical and mechanical equipment on overhead cranes, production equipment, and any other equipment related to operations or maintaining the facilities.
  • Construction, fabrication, rigging, pipefitting, and basic millwright work.
  • Perform precision alignment of motors and other rotating equipment.
  • Operate floor-controlled cranes, fork lifts, manlifts, skid loaders, etc.
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repairs to AC and DC equipment up to 600 volts.
  • Adjust equipment for proper operating characteristics as needed.
