About The Position

OVERVIEW Maintenance technicians will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a level to facilitate the understanding of the terminology of the job.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and/or verbal procedures or instructions.
  • Ability to work safely.
  • Ability to operate forklift and pallet movers.
  • Ability to lift 50# to 100#, and the ability to kneel, bend over, squat, stoop, carry, reach, stand, grip, push, pull, and neck extensions and perform elevated work.
  • Ability to work in a cool and damp environment.
  • Ability to organize and plan ahead to maximize job efficiency.
  • General mechanic, fabricating, plumbing (air, water, steam and hydraulics), with electrical being a plus.
  • Ability to organize and plan ahead to maximize job efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, and pumps.
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed
  • Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments.
  • Able to set up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment.
  • Fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.
  • Participates in plant safety, health and environmental programs.
  • Operate High Lifts, Boom Lifts and Fork Trucks.
  • Ensures operation of electrical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on robots, conveyors, programmable controllers, transformers, voltage regulators and machinery wiring; following electrical code, manuals, diagrams, and other specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.
