About The Position

The incumbent must have the ability to handle maintenance by performing work such as operating repairing/rebuilding, maintaining, troubleshooting, and adjusting various type of machinery, equipment, and physical structures and related systems of the plant under moderate supervisions. Basic design and fabrication skill are also required. The incumbent shall exercise good judgement in regard to quality, safety, and the security of the plant facilities, as well as maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work environment. Must have good interpersonal skills and effective communication skills, both orally and written. An a maintenance employee, the incumbent will be required to work in all areas of the facility, indoors & outdoors, under adverse conditions. The environment ranges from below 0 F to above 100 F, wet, humid confined spaces and unique situations. In addition, the incumbent must be able to lift 50 pounds, be agile for confined space work and be to climb ladders.

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Ability to use hands/arms to reach, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Ability to work in all areas of the facility including hot and cold areas, and be exposed to wet and humid conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and or move up to 50 lbs or more.
  • Must have excellent vision, distant and peripheral, with the ability to identify and distinguish colors, and adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually high, and ear protection is required.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts, high and/or confining places and in outside weather conditions.
  • Candidate must successfully complete and receive a passing score on the Utility Qualification Exam as part of the selection process.
  • Applicants must be willing to work any shift, weekends and holidays, maintain work area in an orderly and sanitary condition, perform any and all duties assigned, and perform all duties in compliance with Federal, State and local codes and laws, plant rules and practices of safety, conduct, sanitation, good housekeeping and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all equipment and systems in the assigned area of responsibility to maximize uptime.
  • Work with production to ensure all quality standards are met.
  • Work with production to ensure expected production volumes are met.
  • Ensure a safe, sanitary work environment always.
  • Minimize/eliminate wasteful uses of energy/utilities.
  • Plan work assignments.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
  • All Maintenance Technician III requirements.
  • Fully understand the plant electrical distribution system and be able to troubleshoot accordingly.
  • Have a working knowledge of all PLC systems and be able to troubleshoot accordingly.
  • Ability to make program changes to PLC systems.
  • Identify and implement P.M. procedure for plant electrical distribution system – all components.
  • All skill base requirements Electrical Technician III.
  • Perform moderate fabrication and machining.
  • Perform moderate welding.
  • Perform equipment re-builds.
  • Thorough understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Basic understanding of refrigeration systems.
  • All mechanical skill base requirements of Maintenance Technician III.
  • All electrical / technical skill base requirements of Maintenance Technician III.
