About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, rebuilding, and maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services. This role encompasses a wide range of duties, including the upkeep of HVAC systems, lighting, plant air, and general building maintenance activities. The technician is expected to maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment, manage consumable parts inventories, diagnose machine malfunctions, and oversee third-party contractor support when necessary.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial or manufacturing equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work safely around moving machinery.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on production machinery and support equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
  • Inspect equipment for wear, misalignment, or potential failures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and PM schedules.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to reduce downtime.
  • Assist operators with machine setup, adjustments, and minor repairs.
  • Communicate recurring issues and recommend long term solutions.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and equipment guarding.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment hazards.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Maintained organized toolbox, work area, and spare parts.
  • Track and maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables.
  • Coordinate with vendors for parts, service calls, or specialized repairs.
  • Document parts usage and assist with maintenance budgeting.
  • Support general building upkeep, including lighting, HVAC filters, plumbing, and infrastructure repairs.
  • Assist with equipment installation, relocation, and alignment.
