About The Position

Employees at this level are expected to perform minor repairs and improvements in a variety of trades under the direction of a group leader or supervisor.

Requirements

High School Graduate or GED
1-2 years on the job training verified
Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools and practices used in electrical or mechanical areas
Ability to interface and work from sketches and prints

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance duties on building and machines
Be able to perform preventative maintenance on the machines
Performs minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician such as replacing light bulbs and fuses
Assists in minor carpentry and repair work
Maintain machinery, equipment, and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and or oiling to ensure optimum working order
Applies paint, varnish, and stain to all types of surfaces in order to protect and beautify surfaces using appropriate tools and equipment
Performs related duties as required
Follow plant specified job specification and task list
Must know and follow all safety requirements, departmental and plant wide
Maintain 5-S for assigned areas and equipment
Must be able to complete required departmental paperwork
Have general knowledge of computer software and maintenance work order system
Must know LOTO (lock out tag out) procedure
Know the proper use of power, and hand tools
Know how to use a volt Ohm meter
Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental Policies
Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer
