About The Position

Job Overview: We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician that will be based in our East Chicago, IN location. The overall objective of the Maintenance Technician is to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the production facility. The Maintenance Technician will work as part of a team of 3 and be responsible for the shared management, development, and implementation of preventive/predictive programs at the East Chicago, IN facility. This role is also responsible for corrective maintenance solutions for mechanical systems and equipment across multiple processes. This person is expected to work independently and make technical decisions and recommendations in the field.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in installation, troubleshooting, and repairs of pumps, compressors, manual valves, etc.
  • Proven knowledge of Preventive and Predictive maintenance systems and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and team interaction skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as lead/participate in teams.
  • Proven experience as a self-starter who effectively manages multiple tasks and achieves results with minimal supervision.
  • Proven experience in computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail etc.).
  • Ability to travel ~10% of the time to support other Linde facilities in the region

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in a mechanical related field or 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proven understanding of regulatory and industrial standards and codes.
  • Demonstrated millwright skills, including equipment installation, precision alignment, and mechanical assembly/disassembly.
  • Machinist skills with experience operating manual machine tools and using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
  • Proven understanding of predictive maintenance systems, equipment, and methodologies
  • Proven experience in Asset Management systems such as Infor EAM and Procal.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, Coordinate, and Execute Preventive and Corrective Maintenance.
  • Assist in Turnaround Planning and Cost Estimation of Mechanical Work.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Mechanical Equipment such as\: Centrifugal Pumps, Centrifugal Compressors, Reciprocating Compressors
  • Perform precision mechanical work such as shaft alignments, bearing replacements, coupling installation, and equipment leveling.
  • Support Pressure Relief Device Maintenance Program
  • Vibration Data Collection Responsibility
  • Grease Route Execution Responsibility
  • Assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Activities for Major Failures.
  • Support Various Compliance Related Inspections
  • Drive resolution of highest impact issues with a strong sense of urgency and integrity.
  • Rotating On-Call Responsibility
  • Support Purchasing and Maintaining Plant Material, Equipment, and Consumables Inventory
