About The Position

The maintenance intern is a part-time position that will learn to perform repairs, preventative and corrective maintenance on production machinery, plant blow mold equipment and the facility. They are also responsible for following our company's Good Manufacturing Practices.

Requirements

• Basic mathematical skills are required.
• Basic computer experience.
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Technical training with maintenance emphasis

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies
• Understand all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) protocols related to maintenance
• Learn to install, adjust, and repair blow mold, trimmers, palletizers, and other related equipment
• Perform mold, neck tooling changes, pin, and other equipment changes
• Inspect and replace pneumatic and hydraulic hoses
• Inspect, rebuild, and replace valves and pumps
• Perform preventive maintenance on all related equipment
• Learn how to maintain machines in optimal processing condition
• Learn to weld, fabricate, and repair various machines
• Troubleshoot, locate root problems, and repair blow mold, baggers & support equipment
• Learn to operate blow mold or injection machines
• Have a working knowledge of how a material handling system works
• Ability to demonstrate how to make hydraulic hoses
• Preform and troubleshoot cable conveyor problems
• Learn how to perform a clamp rebuild on sleevers and do repairs as needed
• Learn how to operate and troubleshoot case erectors and packaging robots
• Learn the water tower system process & how to operate and troubleshoot issues
• Learn how to set up and operate every kind of leak detectors
• Continue to advance education in production environment
• May go to other locations in So Cal for additional training on different pieces of equipment
• Be able to read, understand, and use Diagrams (Electrical, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical)
• Be qualified to Level 3 on Autonomous Maintenance Steps 0-3
• Be qualified to Level 3 on all 7 PM Element Systems
• Be qualified to Level 3 on FI 7-Step process and Changeover Improvement Process
• Other duties as assigned
• Spend first week with the Production Packaging Associates to learn the process, spend week 2 and 3 with the machine operators to learn the process
• After week 3 begin work in maintenance department
• Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs
