Maintenance Technician Intern
About The Position
JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Intern will be responsible for assistance in external facility upkeep of both Brodstone Healthcare and Nuckolls County Daycare. This role will support the maintenance department by maintain landscape areas, perform grounds keeping duties and routine trash removal. This position is for the summer only. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: Adheres to Brodstone Healthcare’s Mission, Vision and Values. Follows written and verbal instructions from maintenance technicians and supervisor. Cuts lawns, trims edges around sidewalks, flower beds and walls. Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches or twigs. Sprays lawn, shrubs and trees with fertilizer, herbicides and insecticides. Rakes and bags leaves. Plants grass, trees and flowers. Waters lawn by proper setting of underground sprinkler system. Waters shrubs with garden hose as needed. Cleans grounds and removes litter. Keeps work tools sharpened and cleaned. Cleans work area, machines, tools and equipment. Assist with carrying supplies from one department to another department. Performs trash removal and waste disposal according to established procedures. Adheres to all safety precautions. Other duties as assigned.
