About The Position

Commons at Chantry Village Columbus, OH Full Time Must be flexible and willing to work on-call and will be paid a monthly mobile allowance. Commons at Chantry located in Columbus, OH is an independent living, assisted living and memory care community with a team of health care professionals that is unmatched in the area! We are owned and operated by National Church Residences , the nation’s largest provider of affordable senior housing and health care services. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician who will share in our vision to advance better living and care for seniors! Under the supervision of a Maintenance supervisor, this position performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repairs, and improves Village facilities and equipment. The position is full-time and must be flexible and willing to work on-call and over-time, as well as coverage and assignment to any shift, as needed. Qualified candidates for this position offer: Education: Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school education or equivalency. At least three years of training or experience in maintenance repair work is required. Knowledge of maintenance repair work, including: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, associated hand and power tools and equipment, and appropriate safety practices. Ability to perform tasks in low, high, and tight spaces such as, closets, windows, crawl spaces under floors and above ceilings, stairwells, equipment rooms, building exteriors, and roofs. Ability to handle exposure to: dirt, dust, and grease, electricity, climatic weather, various chemicals such as drain cleaners, glues, paint, etc., equipment with moving parts and loud noise. Physical Requirements: ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Ability to use machine tools and equipment. Ability to drive and operate utility vehicles. HVAC experience 2-3 years Licensure: Valid driver’s license and able to meet National Church Residences’ motor vehicle policy.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance, repair, alteration to buildings and equipment/fixtures (e.g. doors, windows, walls, floors, stairways, furniture).
  • Performs maintenance, replacement, repair, and minor installation of electrical equipment (e.g., light fixtures, electrical outlets, switches, motors, appliances, circuits, generators, alarms, meters, controls).
  • Performs maintenance, replacement, repair, and minor installations of plumbing equipment (e.g., water and steam lines, trap fittings, plumbing fixtures, pumps, regulators, valves, heating/air conditioning).
  • Performs maintenance on all security systems, fire alarms, and door locks
  • General Maintenance duties and preventive maintenance as assigned.
  • Assists in the painting of Village facilities.
  • Performs landscaping duties including snow removal as needed
  • Completes assigned training in a timely manner
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with residents, co-workers, community leaders, owners, management.
