About The Position

Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Technician I to join our team located in Thomasville, NC . The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment, including motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems and other production machines and equipment. This position is Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. We Offer You! Dynamic culture & people What Success Looks Like: Repairs and reconditions hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including air lines, solenoids, and related components. Maintains, repairs, and modifies injection molding machines, vacuum systems, granulators, augers, and mixers. Ensures all machinery operates safely and efficiently, checking voltage, calibration, and proper function. Replaces, repairs, and installs electrical equipment and components. Observes and listens to machines during operation to diagnose malfunctions. Dismantles devices to remove defective parts and inspects wear to determine repair needs. Adjusts and repairs functional parts, controls, and assemblies. Installs special functional and structural parts as required. Fabricates, welds, and modifies parts for repairs, retrofits, and equipment additions. Sets up and operates lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Installs and maintains plumbing, air lines, and electrical utilities required for machine operation. Performs routine lubrication and cleaning of parts. Starts and tests devices after repair to ensure performance and reliability. Supports overall facility maintenance and assists in building/system upkeep.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience
  • Intermediate level of experience with and knowledge of electrical and mechanical applications
  • Intermediate experience with the use of a variety of hand and mechanical tools for equipment repair
