About The Position
PDS Optical is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that manufactures a large number of eyeglasses daily, with Optical Laboratories in Louisville, KY, and Fort Lauderdale, FL, and managing many optical stores across the US and Puerto Rico. They take pride in their product, especially in producing eyeglasses for United States Veterans. The Maintenance Technician I role is vital for ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of the optical lab. This involves performing routine, preventative, and predictive day-to-day maintenance on optical equipment and the facility, thereby supporting the production of high-quality glasses and contributing to the company's overall success and commitment to excellence.
Requirements
- experienced and highly motivated
- technical and maintenance experience
- basic plumbing electrical knowledge

- Optical experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Repair and Perform Preventative Maintenance on all lab machinery in production
- Perform or schedule with outside contractors all other building maintenance as needed
- Responsible for completing all maintenance service requests as assigned
- Maintain all OSHA, Federal, State, Local and Company Safety Requirements for lab operations
- Monitor and change all HVAC filters
- Check and change light bulbs, interior and exterior as needed
- Assist in heavy lifting, removing or rearranging furniture
