About The Position

WTEN-TV, Albany New York is seeking a full-time Broadcast/IT Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Department. This role entails providing comprehensive support in Broadcast engineering, IT support and general maintenance, operating under the guidance of the Chief Engineer. Responsibilities: Assist in the upkeep of all broadcast and IT equipment within the facility. Install, maintain, and support broadcast and IT infrastructure. Review and update system design documents and drawings. Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime. Develop audio/video and IT solutions to meet user needs. Manage multiple servers, routers, hubs, switches, and PCs. Collaborate with various stakeholders to implement and debug systems. Drive the successful completion of new initiatives and operational projects. Fulfill other duties as assigned. Requirements & Skills: Degree in Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience. Certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, or SBE are advantageous. Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proactive attitude with a willingness to acquire new skills. Proficiency in IT networking, firewalls, RF, fiber optics, and encoding/decoding. Experience with remote desktop applications and VPNs preferred. Familiarity with Adobe editing systems is a plus. Competence in broadcast audio, video, control systems, and IT systems. Knowledge of master control and operations. Proficient in Windows and Mac operating systems. Detail-oriented with excellent multitasking and prioritization skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical individuals. Physical capability to perform tasks, including lifting equipment up to 40 pounds and working in varied weather conditions. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed. Valid NYS Drivers license.
