About The Position

Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, test and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. This position’s primary focus is on electrical distribution, industrial instruments, and controls associated with plant systems, structures, and components.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science Degree in Engineering, the Physical Sciences or equivalent technical experience, with high school diploma or GED
  • Within the past eight years, must have three years plant maintenance experience in the industrial, chemical, nuclear, power generation, or pharmaceutical industries or equivalent US Military facility or systems maintenance training.
  • Experience in the troubleshooting and repair in one of the following areas:
  • Industrial crane control systems
  • Industrial instrument and controls
  • Industrial electrical distribution systems
  • Industrial HVAC/Refrigeration Systems
  • Other equivalent experience in troubleshooting and repair
  • Must be able to travel for training and professional development as requested by management
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule and meet the Physical Demands of the position, which include climbing to elevated heights, bending, stopping, pulling, pushing, and lifting, up to 51 pounds
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
  • Must be able to successfully complete the assigned Qualification Standards and Job Specific Training program
  • Currently possess or can obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • This position will require a pre­-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
  • This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance. Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made. In addition, once employe, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Install, remove, repair, and rebuild common industrial electronic and pneumatic instruments and sensors, programmable logic controllers, (PLC), process system computers and Distributed Control Systems (DCS), electronic and pneumatic support systems and components, electronic security devices and various instruments.
  • Calibration of pneumatic and electrical controls, instruments, flow and pressure transmitters, transducers, thermocouples, pressure gauges, relief valves, temperature elements and tools
  • Work with high voltage electric switchgear, transformers, and control relays
  • Work with low voltage AC and DC control circuits, solenoids, relays, and components
  • Analysis of electrical control circuits on cranes, elevators, mobile equipment, indoor and outdoor lighting circuits, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment (HVAC) and hydraulic systems
  • Performance of Preventative Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, and Predictive Maintenance tasks
  • Properly use Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE), Volt Ohm meters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools
  • Perform work safely while complying with work permit requirements, radiological controls, and the prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Perform Criticality Accident Alarm System (CAAS) System preventative maintenance, testing and repairs
  • Follow procedures, instructions detailed in Work Packages and Job Field Instructions (JFI) to complete assigned tasks
  • Assist cross functional teams with construction turnover activities, Integrated System Test Plans (ISTP) help develop Work Instructions, procedures, and training modules
  • Adhere to a strict Nuclear Safety Culture and Safety Conscious Work Environment
  • Basic use of computers including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and Centrus specific programs.
  • Other duties as assigned under classification
