About The Position

The Maintenance Support Technician provides essential support to the maintenance team by assisting in the upkeep, cleanliness, and basic operation of facility equipment and systems. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to grow into more technical maintenance roles in a food manufacturing environment. The role includes hands-on work, learning opportunities, and exposure to systems such as pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical processes used in cheese production.

Requirements

  • Strong desireto learn and grow in an industrial maintenance setting.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.

  • Reliable attendance and time management.
  • Willingness to work in hot, cold, or humid environments;typical of dairy and cheese production.
  • Accurate record keeping.
  • Good organizational skills:demonstratedability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Practical problem-solving skills.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to perform heavy,physical work, exercising up to 50 pounds of strengthfrequentlyto lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability tosubstantially movewrists, hands, and/or fingers for the purpose of adjusting machine parts and computer operations.
  • Must be able to work in a production environment with exposure to food ingredients, water, and cleaning chemicals.

Nice To Haves

  • Previousexperience in maintenance or production support is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assisttechnicians with planned and unplanned maintenance tasks on facility and production equipment.
  • Helpmaintaincleanliness and organization of maintenanceshopand mechanical areas.
  • Transport tools, equipment, and materials to work areas.
  • Assistin minor mechanical tasks such as lubrication, belt changes, and filter replacement.
  • Support routine checks of air compressors, boilers, HVAC units, and other facility systems.
  • Maintain proper documentation of tasks and work completed under supervision.
  • Follow allSabrosuraFoods safety policies, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), PPE usage, and GMPs.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions togrowtechnical knowledge.
  • Perform general tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisoror technicians.
  • Performs all maintenance work accurately andin a timelymanner,verifiescorrect materials from the Maintenance Parts Inventory as needed to ensure all quality standards are met.
  • Maintains a clean work area
  • Maintains communication with Maintenance Supervisor, co-workers as needed, toreportany on-going safety and equipment issues. Also, to include any building and ground deficiencies thataffecteach shift performance.
  • Demonstratesabilityto tactfully handledifficult situations.
  • Consistently showsabilitytoanticipate, recognize, and deal with changing situations, obstacles, & priorities in a positive manner.
  • Perform other duties andresponsibilities asassigned by your supervisor.
