The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and improving the maintenance function within our manufacturing facility, ensuring the reliability of equipment and systems critical to the production of rail fastening products. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on leadership, supporting operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement across all plant maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal fabrication, Injection Molding, or similar industries.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a maintenance leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical controls, PLCs, Robotics, and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience using CMMS software; SAP knowledge is a plus.
  • Proven understanding of industrial safety practices and OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with MRO purchasing for replacement parts
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Capable of working in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, and moving machinery.
  • Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces as required.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate tools, inspect equipment, and use computer systems.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, and respirators when necessary.
  • Ability to respond to maintenance needs on-call or during off-hours in emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in injection molding manufacturing or metal component production.
  • Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience with equipment installations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all production and support equipment.
  • Lead and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring proper training, performance management, and resource planning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, minimizing unplanned downtime and production disruptions.
  • Maintain and improve the facility’s mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to meet quality and production standards.
  • Oversee the use and accuracy of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Support managing maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships.
  • Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and corporate safety policies and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement in equipment uptime, safety, energy efficiency, and reliability.
