About The Position

Incumbent is a skilled and working supervisor overseeing the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team and ensures the team has resources they need to do repair, renovations, and preventative maintenance.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of applicable experience in maintenance trade or equivalent vocational training
  • At least 2 year of supervisory experience and the ability to work with a team, residents, and contractors
  • Ability to safely and legally operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to use computer and other office software and systems effectively
  • Proven ability to manage projects
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to use MS office suite and CMMS software efficiently
  • Lifting: Up to 50 pounds.
  • Carrying: Up to 50 pounds.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of LifeSpire of Virginia
  • Manages and monitors the day-to-day repair work orders ensuring they are being properly assessed and completed in a timely manner
  • Diagnoses and assesses multiple types of maintenance needs including complex problems/failures
  • In collaboration with others, agreeing when it is necessary to utilize outside vendors for repair, renovation, and/or preventative maintenance; oversees outside vendors as appropriate
  • In collaboration with others, the incumbent may manage the renovation process, ensuring approval for work has been obtained and team members and contractors are working in a timely, safe, and efficient manner
  • Works with others as needed to undertake alterations and repairs to systems
  • Ensures all system related tools and materials are adequately stocked and properly stored
  • Ensures day-to-day repair work orders are properly assessed, completed, and reported on in an appropriate time frame
  • Keeps appropriate parties informed and up to date on the progress of work orders
  • Assists with moves, and set-ups and teardowns, as necessary
  • Assists with campus wide clean-up work following inclement weather including snow removal as necessary
  • Works independently with limited supervision
  • Works under pressure, in confined spaces; in wet environments and with electrical equipment and circuits, in any combination
  • Assists other teams as needed
  • Assist the Plant Ops Director in managing small projects on campus
  • Audits and inputs new information in security and safety systems like SARA
  • Engages in performance reviews and staff trainings
  • Supervises a team of skilled tradesman and maintenance techs providing them with the support they need to do their job effectively and efficiently
  • Performs other duties as assigned
