The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. The centers provide campus-based direct services and supports at 13 centers located throughout the state. The Maintenance Supervisor III performs advanced (senior-level) supervisory maintenance and construction work administering the daily operations and activities of the Maintenance Department for the hospital. Work involves supervising maintenance staff, scheduling and assigning work, requisitioning materials, and supplies, estimating job work hours and materials required for projects, maintenance and repair as well as preventive maintenance programs, and coordinating activities with other maintenance and ancillary supervisors. This role oversees contractual work performed by contractors and ensures work is verified and invoices are submitted in a timely manner. The supervisor works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initial response, decision making, and independent judgment of proactive, reactive, and emergent work. This position also involves actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation, which may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.
