About The Position

Responsible for maintaining all buildings, grounds, vehicles, equipment, and program properties to ensure a safe, functional, and supportive physical environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years of experience in general maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry in Multi-Family Housing.
  • State of Minnesota Special Boilers License (Class C or higher).
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Refrigeration certification and/or Maintenance Electrician license, preferred.
  • Property Management Software - Real Page, Yardi, or similar

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance including heating, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks.
  • Find, maintain, and manage external vendors for onsite services, including obtaining quotes, coordinating schedules, overseeing work quality, and ensuring adherence to safety and compliance standards.
  • Develop, write, and update specifications and scopes of work for maintenance related contracts and service agreements.
  • Assist with evaluating vendor proposals, participating in contract selection, and monitoring contract performance to ensure service expectations are met.
  • Communicate effectively with program staff and other departments regarding maintenance needs and work progress.
  • Participate in meetings scheduled by supervisor to address maintenance issues or concerns.
  • Maintain responsibility for inventory control of maintenance supplies and equipment usage.
  • Act as lead maintenance staff for assigned site.
  • Provide orientation, instruction, and on the job training for new and existing maintenance workers.
  • Assign and schedule daily work duties for maintenance staff.
  • Continue education in technical areas and maintain knowledge of building codes.
  • Remain knowledgeable about relevant codes including OSHA, ADA, ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, and applicable local regulations.
  • Maintain program participant privacy in accordance with HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
