About The Position

Stepan Company is seeking a proactive Maintenance Stores Lead / Buyer to manage plant procurement, inventory control, and vendor relationships at our Pasadena, TX site. This role supports reliable plant operations through effective sourcing, cost management, and storeroom leadership.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in plant procurement or materials management (manufacturing environment preferred).
Proficiency in SAP, ARIBA, and Microsoft Office.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

CPM or CPSM certification preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

Manage all plant procurement activities, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and product quality.
Maintain accurate purchase and inventory records using ARIBA and SAP.
Initiate MRO and service purchase requisitions; process invoices and receipts.
Oversee replenishment of stocked parts and expedite urgent deliveries.
Lead VMI and Vending Machine Programs; coordinate kitting of maintenance work orders.
Manage off-site repairs, returns, and obsolete parts or equipment.
Update lead times, create bin locations, and track RMAs.
Build strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
