About The Position

The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for general maintenance, cleanliness and sanitation of the building, equipment and property at ARMCO Park. The incumbent will provide exemplary service to members and prospective members, demonstrating good human relation skills and a willingness to help maintain building and grounds.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 21; required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; required.
  • Valid Driver’s License, required.
  • Basic experience in carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, general building systems, required.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

  • PA CHILD ABUSE HISTORY CERTIFICATION
  • FBI (DHS) FINGERPRINTING HISTORY CLEARANCE
  • ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS AND VOICEMAIL MUST BE SET UP IN ORDER TO COMPLETE ONBOARDING PROCESSES.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years or more of general maintenance experience; preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Park is attractive and clean by completing all duties on daily schedule; may perform wet and dust mopping, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities with regards to lawn care & snow removal, and general repairs.
  • Responsible for efficient scheduling and supervision of Maintenance & Groundskeeping staff; processing payroll.
  • Responsible for the grounds maintenance and overseeing assigned daily workload checklists.
  • Responsible for maintaining building codes.
  • Ensure the proper operation of all mechanical systems.
  • Responsible for basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and HVAC at assigned properties.
  • Ensure building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to Director.
  • Record and report all needed repairs; perform repairs as directed.
  • Maintain safe, clean, sanitary conditions throughout the building and property; eliminate safety hazards.
  • Maintain and operate equipment in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Operate related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
  • Perform and maintain monthly/annual facility checklists.
  • Advise Director on maintenance issues and projects as requested.
  • Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
