Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, industrial engineering, HVAC, welding, or other building trade.
  • Experience in building maintenance, a mechanical trade, or performing safety inspections, investigations or training may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis as determined appropriate by the agency.
  • This position requires driving. As such, the incumbent must be able to provide a valid driver's license.
  • Regular and Reliable attendance is required.
  • Boiler, chiller, air handler experience, pneumatic pumps.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Rotating on call duties.
  • The ability to work unsupervised on projects and work with maintenance staff on projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical experience, operating heavy equipment, plumbing skills, power tools, painting skills, knowledge of groundskeeping equipment, and basic construction experience.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain, boilers, commercial hot water heaters and HVAC systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, conduct inspections, and complete work orders.
  • Assist staff with painting, plumbing, carpet and tile installation, snow removal and other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification.
