About The Position

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Scheduler at their Northshore Mining Company facility located in Silver Bay, MN. The Maintenance Scheduler analyzes data found in computerized maintenance work orders and organizes it into daily, weekly, 8-Week, and long term maintenance schedules. The scheduler evaluates the planned work backlog and preventive maintenance tasks, and translates them in to detailed work schedules that meet plant operational priorities and resource constraints. The scheduler position requires a high degree of computer literacy coupled with leadership experience in heavy industry. Requirements

  • Strong computer skills; preference for individuals with Ellipse computerized maintenance management system experience.
  • Strong MS Project and MS Office experience.
  • Must be capable of working effectively and safely using a participative management style in a team environment.
  • Strong technical writing experience and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Understanding of maintenance management and predictive/preventative maintenance.
  • Must be a champion of safe production and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or management discipline with at least 2 years of work experience in maintenance management or project management; or an associate’s degree with at least 5 years of experience in maintenance management or project management.
  • Previous experience in leadership positions is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Mining industry is preferred.
  • Six Sigma/Lean knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and publish work schedules using various scheduling tools, including a computerized maintenance management system (Ellipse) Microsoft project, excel etc.
  • Using Ellipse and other software tools, analyze data to organize maintenance work in a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate maintenance scheduling interactions with managers, engineers, and planners.
  • Lead weekly maintenance scheduling meeting.
  • Ensure work schedules adhere to company policies and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
