Maintenance Mechanic Virbac Animal Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our Maintenance Team located in Bridgeton, MO. The Maintenance Mechanic assists with maintaining , repairing and performing preventative maintenance on various types of: Packaging Equipment Mixing Equipment Compression Equipment Building Systems

Requirements

  • Ability to work Independently
  • Previous Maintenance experience
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical or Bio-Pharmaceutical equipment
  • High School diploma, trade school or college preferred.
  • Total number of years' experience required to fulfil the role: 3 years
  • Previous maintenance experience.
  • Pharmaceutical or Bio-Pharmaceutical manufacturing or research equipment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine shutdowns.
  • Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
  • Performs mechanic level skills including, but not limited to; mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting, repair of Pharmaceutical packaging and production line machines. Electrical skills include: AC/DC theory and analysis, Power Distribution, Motor and Machine control circuits, and familiarity with PLC’s. Mechanical skills include: Pump and gearbox repair, Millwright practices, Sheetmeal work, Pipefitting, and Welding.
  • The ability to read, interpret equipment manuals and work orders to insure correct maintenance repairs and equipment service is completed.
  • Detailed equipment inspections based on preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Legible record keeping procedures.
  • Ability to use electrical and calibration testing equipment.
  • Repairs, modifies, constructs, fabricates, installs and maintains building structures and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of building codes.
  • Understanding of facility equipment, boilers, chillers, air handling systems etc.
  • Participate in Kaizen events.
  • Support 5 S projects.
  • Participate in safety related groups.
  • The ability to identify possible safety hazards.
