About The Position

Repairs and maintains plastic molding machinery and electro-mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulics, conveyor systems, electrical devices and production machines and equipment. Uses hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and electrical testing equipment. Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and PLC troubleshooting. Responsibilities: Perform routine and preventive tasks and reviews on prescribed machines as part of the preventive maintenance program. Communicates with the Shift Supervisor, Production Supervisor or Operation Manager regarding problems and status of machine operations. Follows safety procedures and ensures safety equipment is maintained. Upholds housekeeping standards as part of overall quality control, ensuring a clean and organized work environment. Participates and advises on personnel training. Assists and advises set up data/procedure. Other duties assigned by Supervisor. Complies with and follows environmental and food safety policies while maintaining adherence to required regulatory standards, including GMPs, SQF, BRC, FSSC, OSHA, and customer-specific requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus, one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training an experience.
  • Full and complete understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Machine set-up, troubleshoots equipment failures, and perform repair and prevent maintenance services ensuring that all safety procedures are being followed.
  • Must have strong PLC troubleshooting capability and ability to read and program code.
  • Must have good working knowledge of all aspects of electrical controls, mechanical assembly, plumbing, and heating, ventilating and air-conditioning related control systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical control and mechanical assembly drawings, as well as service manuals for all equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair both Electrical and Mechanical problems associated with Production and Facility equipment in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to work to repair equipment back to service during emergency breakdowns.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
  • Be able to work 12-hour shifts, 8a-8p or 8p-8am, rotating: 36 hours one week, 48 hours the next.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer Electrician's License, but not mandatory.
