About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic position works under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or the Lead Technician. This position is expected to perform routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on the facility’s equipment, including pumps, blowers, compressors, extruders, and heat exchangers. The candidate is expected to be knowledgeable about the use of hand & power tools and the operation of certain mobile equipment.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in the field of equipment maintenance in a manufacturing facility, such as Polymers, Chemical, or Refining.
  • Good working knowledge as a multi-craft Maintenance Mechanic.
  • Good working knowledge with the use of hand tools.
  • Good working knowledge of: Welding/Pipe Fitting, Crane Operation/Rigging, Install, align, and dismantle machinery and mechanical equipment, Use specialized tools such as laser alignment and dial indicators., Hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, Read and interpretation of P&ID’s and machine drawings
  • Candidate must be a self-motivated and self-directed individual, with good communication skills.
  • Candidate must be able to adapt to change, be able to make change happen in the department and the plant.
  • Candidate must be detail oriented.
  • Received their training either through a formal apprenticeship program or through community colleges, combined with informal on-the-job training.
  • Physically fit: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders and stairs.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office/SAP.
  • Candidates must be currently eligible to work in the United States without the need for any type of sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Technical certifications (preferred).
  • NCCER certified (preferred).
  • Equipment Operator certified (preferred).
