About The Position

Overview: The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic will perform proactive preventative/predictive maintenance and repairs on buildings, grounds, roll-up doors, and forklifts in an automated food processing facility while keeping a high regard for employee safety, food quality and efficiency. Here's what you'll do: Ensures self and coworkers are compliant with all safety rules and regulations (LOTO, fall protection, hot work, etc.) Have the experience/knowledge of plumbing, electrical, air handlers, and building mechanical and electrical systems. Be able to repair and maintain building structure, restrooms, and roof. Troubleshoot and perform preventative and corrective work for all roll-up doors and electric forklifts. Identify and execute improvements on equipment, documentation, work systems, and processes. Collaborates with different levels of employees in various departments of the facility through face-to-face, telephone, email, and radio communications. Research system and component specifications using equipment manuals, schematics, parts breakdowns, online information, and vendor communication. Dismantle and reassemble complex pieces of machinery in an efficient, precise, and reliable manner. Operates cutting, welding, and various other fabrication equipment to cut, form, and/or join materials. Creates/modifies work orders in Computerized Maintenance Management System, and documents details of work performed. Research parts, gather quotes, and generates requests. Escalate technical, procedural, and personnel related issues to direct lead or supervisor as necessary. Work with moral integrity on a consistent basis. Performs other assigned duties and projects. Other duties as assigned. Pay Range: $34.50 - $39.00 per hour. Final Compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Technical degree and three years or more of related experience and/or training in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Effective English communication is a must, bilingual is preferred.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is preferred.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and present out general business items to groups of coworkers, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be able to frequently move items weighing up to 25 pounds as needed.
  • To successfully support the business needs, the employee will be expected to work overtime, weekends, and rotating/varying shifts, as well as be available for emergency call-out as needed.
