Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities Able to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision, and able to make appropriate decisions in the absence of direct leadership Able to work effectively in a team as well as individually as dictated by the situation and management. Expected to quickly become competent to perform normal and emergency operation of all engineering & life safety systems of the hospital Performs maintenance & repairs in a safe and efficient manner, and in compliance with relevant regulations of AHJ. Applies hydraulics/pneumatics principles for maintenance & installation of Pumps, valves, cylinders and actuators, lubricants and coolants; and to trouble shoot, repair and rebuild; compressors, piping, tubing and hoses. Highly skilled in installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of facilities equipment such as: electric motors (diagnosis, replacement, & alignment), chill water pumps; hot water pumps; chillers; boilers; gear boxes; exhaust fans, blowers, water treatment systems; commercial kitchen equipment; programmable logic control systems/BAS; VAVs; AHUs; VFDs (set up, theory, & operation); steam pressure reducing stations; Performs preventive maintenance inspections: Visual/audible inspections; vibration analysis; fluid analysis; diagnostics Works with a wide variety of hand tools & power tools May use welding & cutting equipment Maintains documentation in accordance with directives and policy. Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Email, WORD, EXCEL, and user level computerized maintenance management software. Job requires use of both computer stations and mobile applications. Ensures that work sites are left clean, and that supplies and equipment are maintained and accounted for.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years documented experience in industrial maintenance or related healthcare facility maintenance required.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 certification or higher preferred
  • Trade School, Trade Union, DOL, or Military certification strongly preferred
  • AAS Industrial Maintenance preferred strongly preferred (or related field)
  • Experience with Trane Trace, SIEMANS, or Honeywell EBI preferred
  • Emergency Generator operation experience preferred
  • Boiler plant operation experience preferred
