About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic performs preventative maintenance and repair operations necessary to keep plant property, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition. The incumbent diagnoses problems and works in many varied and diversified capacities required in general maintenance, overhaul, and repair of plant equipment, processes and facilities.

Requirements

  • Able to solve mechanical and hydraulic problems with limited assistance.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Read, write and speak in English.
  • Familiar with hand tools, power tools and related equipment.
  • Physical requirements (be able to lift 50 lbs. bend, climb, etc.)
  • Able to complete Hydraulic Troubleshooting courses and pass final exam.
  • Computer Skills (Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for training and coaching and overseeing the activities of Maintenance Mechanic Level II, I and helper/trainee sharing work and working effectively.
  • Still perform the duties of Maintenance Mechanic Level II, I and helper/trainee as needed.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, inspects machinery for defects, lubricates and cleans presses as necessary.
  • Dismantle presses and other equipment for repair with use of diagrams and sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer specifications.
  • Lubricate and cleans parts while either assembled or dismantled.
  • Make mechanical and hydraulic repairs as necessary.
  • Operate a forklift and/or manipulator.
