A maintenance mechanic is responsible for the satisfactory performance of light and heavy manual tasks involved in the maintenance of water/wastewater division equipment, building, facilities, and grounds as assigned. Work is performed under the direction of a supervisor or foreman, but many tasks assigned are routine and repetitive in nature and once learned, should be carried on without difficulty and under general supervision. Work is evaluated by observation of completed tasks; work is reviewed through oral and written reports, attendance, safety, cooperation, knowledge of job duties, and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
