The Maintenance Department is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform skilled labor in preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, inspection routines, pipe fitting, welding, machine repair, electrical, process improvement, and building maintenance towards a specific color group. Salary range $31/hr to $38/hr, dependent on experience, plus $1.25/hr shift differential if needed. Candidates will do 6 months minimum of training on day shift, and then will move to a second or third shift schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required (completion of industrial maintenance program prefered)
  • A minimum of 6 months maintenance work experience required
  • Must meet the minimum requirements of the Apprentice Maintenance Test
  • Ability to perform work in electrical maintenance and power distribution, pipe fitting, welding, mechanical machine repair and building maintenance
  • Skilled in working from blueprints, schematics, and sketches
  • Capable of heavy physical labor
  • Must be able to wear a respirator

Responsibilities

  • Perform work in a physically safe and environmentally sound manner
  • Must participate in the weekend duty rotation
  • Work closely with maintenance and production personnel
  • Equipment ownership, inspections, PM's, follow-ups
  • Participate in ongoing PM improvement
  • Experience with technology and willingness to adopt to new systems
  • Participate in equipment walk through inspections
  • Assist in the training fellow team members
  • Maintain a high-quality work standard
  • Act as a member of the spill response team
