Maintenance Manager
About The Position
Spring Meadow Nursery, a leading wholesale grower of premium flowering shrubs and the home of Proven Winners® ColorChoice®, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to support our growing operations. With a strong commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability, our facilities and equipment play a critical role in delivering exceptional plants to market. The Maintenance Manager will lead maintenance operations across our nursery and production facilities, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe, efficient working environment. This role is key to supporting our team’s success and advancing operational excellence. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all repair, maintenance, and preventative maintenance for production equipment, auxiliary equipment and housing. The Maintenance Manager leads a team, collaborates with other departments, and ensures critical systems are operational.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, administration or facility management
- Minimum experience of 10 years in a supervisory role
- Effective communication and people management skills
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Familiarity in drafting and understanding blueprints and schematics
- Must possess the ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move 30 pounds.
- 4+ years of technical courses of some or all of the following: generators, gas fusion, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical.
- 5+ years of experience in designing and managing new electrical and mechanical installations and maintaining existing:
- Safety training related to stored energy (electrical/gas/air/mechanical)
- NEC compliant electrical design experience
- Working knowledge and safety of primary power services
- Gas fusion/plumbing knowledge/ experience
- Boiler repairs and installations knowledge
- Heater installation and repair knowledge
- Conveyors and process controls experience
- Irrigation systems design and installation knowledge
- Generator service and installation training
- Relay logic and control wiring experience
- Small engine repair knowledge
- Communications wiring and design experience
- Security systems experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and train the Maintenance Team in installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Collaborate with the Construction Manager on project design and scheduling.
- Communicate with all departments to address repair and improvement needs for efficient production.
- Manage an on-call team for after-hours emergencies.
- Ensure critical systems are operational.
- Perform other related duties as required.
