About The Position

The Maintenance Manager oversees all maintenance activities within the facility, ensuring equipment reliability, safe work practices, and the effective execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs. This role is responsible for optimizing machine uptime, reducing MTTR and MTBF, and cultivating a strong technical workforce through training, coaching, and development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership in manufacturing; corrugated converting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proven experience improving reliability metrics (OEE, MTTR, MTBF, etc.).
  • Demonstrated success developing technicians and building strong teams.
  • Experience with CMMS, PM optimization, RCA methodologies, and CI tools.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a “Safe Work” safety culture across all maintenance operations.
  • Ensure technicians follow proper LOTO, machine guarding, and work‑permit processes.
  • Develop and audit safe work procedures and reinforce hazard recognition and mitigation.
  • Lead reliability efforts to reduce unplanned downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Implement RCA and continuous improvement projects.
  • Drive improvements in work order quality, planning, scheduling, and parts management.
  • Own and refine the plant’s PM/PdM program to ensure tasks are effective, efficient and value-adding.
  • Use data to adjust PM frequency, scope, and methods to maximize reliability.
  • Partner with Operations to schedule maintenance activities with minimal production disruption.
  • Analyze downtime trends and develop action plans to reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and increase Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF).
  • Ensure troubleshooting procedures and documentation are standardized and up to date.
  • Introduce new tools and technologies for improved diagnostics and repair effectiveness.
  • Build a high‑performing team through structured skills assessments training plans, and technical coaching.
  • Facilitate cross‑training to ensure broad coverage across lines and shifts.
  • Promote communication, teamwork, and accountability within the department.
  • Manage maintenance budget, spare parts inventory, and contractor performance.
  • Partner with Quality, Design, Production, and Safety teams to deliver operational goals.
  • Ensure CMMS accuracy, timely work order completion, and clean equipment history.
