About The Position

A foundry maintenance lead oversees all maintenance activities within a metal casting facility to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment and machinery. This involves leading and managing a small team of maintenance helpers, developing and executing preventative maintenance plans, and coordinating repairs to minimize production downtime.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 6+ years of maintenance experience preferred.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical and Welding experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation and for defects such as loose connections and frayed wires.
  • Install repaired equipment in various settings.
  • Converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to determine what the root cause of the issue is.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as greasing, cleaning, and repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems.
  • Set up and test industrial equipment to ensure that it functions properly.
  • Repair and adjust equipment, machines, and defective components, replacing worn parts.
  • Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, and tests.
  • Provide guidance and direction to maintenance helpers.
  • Other various maintenance tasks
