An On-Site Maintenance person must be familiar with basic maintenance repairs including but not limited to proper preparation and painting of units; electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc. The Roving Maintenance is assigned to different properties and coordinates with the Regional Manager where time is spent depending upon the needs of each property. Since all service requests must be submitted to the rental office, and the office coordinates re-rental of vacant units and other maintenance needs, the Roving Maintenance Person is responsible for coordinating maintenance work schedules. The Maintenance Person is required to perform his or her assigned duties for the development during a forty (40) hour workweek. Work hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. You are entitled to two 15-minute breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Due to the nature of property management, there will be an occasional emergency. While this job description does not go into detail, the Barker Management's maintenance section does explain how to do the specific items that have been mentioned above. We attempt to cover all your duties; however, it must be understood that various duties may be assigned that are not mentioned in this job description. It is your responsibility to read and understand Barker Management's manual in regard to the maintenance procedures and policies to ensure that all procedures and policies are being correctly followed.

Requirements

  • An On-Site Maintenance person must be familiar with basic maintenance repairs including but not limited to proper preparation and painting of units; electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
  • You are required to walk to the grounds twice a day, once early in the morning and again in the late afternoon.
  • Each maintenance person is responsible for maintaining a written inventory of all supplies and maintenance equipment. This is to be updated on a weekly basis.
  • It is each maintenance person's responsibility to submit daily maintenance logs to the manager every Friday.
  • It is the responsibility of the maintenance person to see that the laundry room is cleaned daily.
  • Read and understand Barker Management's manual in regard to the maintenance procedures and policies to ensure that all procedures and policies are being correctly followed.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working at a residential property with 20+ units is preferred.

  • Assist with move-in and move-out inspections.
  • Maintaining a written inventory of all supplies and maintenance equipment.
