- Understands and follows all workplace safety rules, such as safe work practices and standard operating procedures. - Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and unplanned maintenance on production equipment, servicing all mechanical drive components and drivetrains - Perform basic mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and troubleshooting of production machines. - Diagnose and troubleshoot production equipment, repairing when possible or replacing spare parts to get lines back into operation as fast as possible - Works in the machine shop to fabricate spare parts and maintain spare part inventory - Collaboratively works with the quality team to provide gauges and ensure gauges stay in calibration - Read and interpret equipment manuals and drawings required to perform maintenance and service - Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials as necessary. - Responsible for reviewing priorities with Plant Manager/Management Team for the short, medium, and long term - Maintain a clean and orderly work area. - Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety, quality practices, and waste reduction opportunities. - Coordinates with Plant Manager and Maintenance Lead to complete projects and work orders efficiently. - Attends and communicates in daily management meetings and other meetings as needed. - In order to achieve business objectives, able to work flexible hours or work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be required. - The Maintenance Mechanic / Machinist reports directly to the Maintenance Shop Lead
