Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a high-volume maintenance department in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs work and ensures the work of others is performed in accordance with GMPs, Food Safety, Quality and safety practices, and proper work methods or procedures.
  • Provides day-to-day leadership and work direction to maintenance technicians; assigns and prioritizes work orders; monitors safety/quality; communicates status and needs to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs dry blending and packaging equipment and supporting utilities to assure food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains and repairs key production assets including but not limited to ribbon blenders, sifters, scales, All-Fill bulk bag filling lines, VFFS machines, conveyors, metal detectors, thermal transfer printers, vacuum pumps, and air-actuated valves.
  • Provides mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic controls troubleshooting on PLC/HMI-controlled equipment; partners with automation support and OEMs as needed.
  • Assists the Maintenance Supervisor with planning and scheduling by reviewing work requests, scoping jobs, coordinating downtime, staging parts/tools, and verifying completion.
  • Executes and improves preventive and predictive maintenance programs (inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacement) to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Documents work performed in the CMMS, including troubleshooting notes, downtime causes, corrective actions, and parts usage.
  • In partnership with the Maintenance Clerk, maintains critical spare parts inventory by identifying critical spares, maintaining min/max levels, and ensuring parts availability for planned and reactive work.
  • Trains and mentors maintenance technicians on safe work practices, troubleshooting, and standard work; supports root cause analysis to eliminate recurring failures.
  • Partners with Operations, Quality, Warehouse, Management and others to promote a safe work environment and respectful, team-oriented atmosphere.
