About The Position

Scientific Protein Laboratories (SPL) is a global leader in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, supporting the production of critical therapies that improve and save lives worldwide. And behind every important batch, is a well-supported Maintenance team. We’re seeking a Maintenance Inventory Specialist to take ownership of our maintenance inventory systems and storeroom operations at our Waunakee, WI site. This is a hands-on role that directly impacts equipment uptime, asset performance, and manufacturing reliability. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory management, purchasing, or storeroom operations
  • Experience using a CMMS or inventory management system
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs. occasionally

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting maintenance or reliability teams

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming maintenance materials and spare parts
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels within the FIIX CMMS system
  • Track parts usage against work orders and purchase parts as needed
  • Perform routine cycle counts and participate in physical inventories
  • Identify obsolete, excess, or critical spare parts and communicate recommendations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure storeroom environment
  • Ensure proper storage practices (FIFO, environmental controls, kitting where applicable)
  • Establish and maintain standardized labeling and bin locations
  • Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate purchasing of maintenance parts and supplies
  • Create or support purchase requisitions for stocked and non-stocked items
  • Track open purchase orders and follow up with vendors
  • Verify correct parts, quantities, and documentation upon receipt
  • Coordinate returns, warranties, and repairable spare processes
  • Assist in identifying critical spares and establishing min/max levels
  • Provide feedback to maintenance planners on usage trends and lead times
  • Support equipment shutdowns, outages, and emergency repairs
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks and assist maintenance mechanics as needed
