This position is responsible for, but not limited to: Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves providing troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction, preparing written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems, responding to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handling emergency situations, and performing preventive maintenance according to schedule. The Maintenance Generalist must complete appropriate paperwork and reports, comply with all safety programs including lockout/tagout and confined space, and be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs. The individual should be capable of performing diagnosis and repairs without supervision, starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision, and assisting other mechanics as needed. The work environment involves temperatures that vary with outside ambient conditions and can be dusty, warm, cold, and/or humid. Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, climbing ladders, lifts, and scaffolds, and lifting up to 70lbs. A safety toe boot that can withstand 75lbs is required at all times.
