About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves providing troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction, responding to mechanical or electrical breakdowns, and handling emergency situations. The work environment's temperature will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity, and it can be dusty, warm, cold, and/or humid. The position requires physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds. Lifting up to 70lbs will also be required, and a safety toe boot that can withstand 75lbs must be worn at all times.

Requirements

2 years prior industrial maintenance experience, experience with Tyson maintenance department, or have education (I.E. possess industrial maintenance diploma or currently enrolled in technical school) in lieu of experience
Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel
Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical
Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules

Must not have seven (7) or more attendance points (for internal candidates)

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures
Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction
Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations
Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule
Complete appropriate paperwork and reports
Comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs
Perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs
Perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision
Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision
Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
