About The Position

The Manager of Engineering provides maintenance, regulatory compliance, and systems management services for hospital facilities, under the direction of the Director of Engineering. This position assesses, troubleshoots, and procures facility maintenance and compliance requiring design, life-cycle planning, repair, replacement, or new installation. They perform duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory standards and policies. The Engineering Manager supervises the personnel and work processes to successfully undertake, and completes the facility operational functions to provide a comfortable and safe hospital environment. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Submit monthly expense variance justifications and capital requests based on needs analysis and long-range planning. Assist with preparation of annual capital and operating unit budget, and evaluate financial impact of existing or new programs or procedures. Inspect area for compliance with departmental policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, and takes preventive steps and corrective action when violations occur. Audit completion of staff mandatory requirements and provides necessary discipline, as needed. Identify deficiencies in surveys from HFAP, Indiana Board of Health, or other applicable agency, addresses as appropriate, and verify that hospital equipment and environment follows safety and standards codes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED - Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering or related field - Required - OR- Bachelor's Degree Business Management or related field - Required -OR- 10+ years' Experience in lieu of degree - Required
  • 5 years Relevant engineering or construction field - Required -OR- 5 years Relevant hospital maintenance or construction - Required

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years Relevant hospital maintenance or construction - Preferred
  • Trade License - Preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma - Green Belt - Preferred
  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) - American Hospital Association Certification Center - Preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) - Project Management Institute- Preferred
