About The Position

Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center (BMNTC) is seeking a full-time Maintenance/Construction Technician Ill. Duties include the repair and construction of components necessary to keep the facility and surrounding property in proper working condition for the comfort and well-being of the residents. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Maintenance and renovations, including cabinet making, carpentry work, masonry work, drywall installation, building decks and partitions, flooring (such as VCT and ceramic tile), roofing, hanging doors and windows, and building picture frames, etc. Administration of all locks, doors and closures, including maintaining locks in working condition, preventative maintenance, identifying repairs, ordering supplies, cutting keys, tracking keys, etc., for all windows and doors. This position provides back-up to the department supervisor and may assist in supervision of staff, work orders, assignments, and projects. ABOUT BLACK MOUNTAIN NEURO-MEDICAL TREATMENT CENTER: Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center is one of three state operated facilities serving adults with chronic and complex medical conditions that co-exist with neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders often related to a diagnosis of severe and persistent mental illness or intellectual disability. The health and physical status of these residents require 24-hour supervision, daily nursing care, and assistance with activities of daily living. OUR MISSION STATEMENT: We are a specialized long-term care facility focusing on maintaining quality of life and dignity for adults with neurocognitive or neurodevelopmental disorders with coexisting complex medical and behavioral needs whose level of support extends beyond that which can be provided in family or community living settings. We are committed to providing individualized compassionate care delivered by highly skilled staff.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting building codes, plans, instructions, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in construction related activities.
  • Previous experience installing and/repairing lock mechanisms.
  • This position is designated mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
