About The Position

Our agency houses many public safety divisions, including Emergency Management, Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, Alcohol Law Enforcement, Samarcand Training Academy, and the North Carolina National Guard. This position is a Maintenance Mechanic III position serving in the CFMO’s Facility Management Branch. This journey level employee is responsible for general maintenance tasks (e.g., carpentry, temporary roof repairs, masonry and concrete work, painting, locksmith work, carpet/tile installation, etc.) in support of National Guard facilities in the eastern region of North Carolina.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in performing facility maintenance
  • Documented experience in at least two of the following trades; (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Structures, Fire Alarms)
  • Experience in the general preventative maintenance of facilities and infrastructure
