About The Position

MAINTENANCE & AUTOMATION ENGINEER Elkhart, IN KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Troubleshoot & repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, & control systems across the plant Program, edit, & troubleshoot PLC systems (Allen-Bradley) & support robotics/automation cells Improve & standardize maintenance processes, PM programs, & equipment reliability Lead & execute capital upgrades, automation improvements, & technical projects, including vendor coordination Analyze equipment performance & production data to identify improvement opportunities Support mold maintenance, tool changes, & sensor calibrations as needed Champion a safety-first culture through hazard identification, LOTO compliance, & training Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and leadership to set priorities & drive results Identify & work with management to prioritize & lead continuous improvement projects related to equipment maintenance/reliability/TPM, process improvement/optimization and procedure improvement opportunities Lead continuous improvement & project execution in a project & team leadership capacity The person who can fix it today, & also design how we’ll prevent it tomorrow POSITION REQUIRMENTS: Bachelor’s degree: Engineering, Automation, Electromechanical Technology or equivalent experience 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, maintenance, automation, or controls roles Strong proficiency in PLC programming & troubleshooting Ability to read & interpret ladder logic, electrical schematics, blueprints, & technical drawings Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, & industrial equipment Self-starter mindset - ability to assess the situation, set priorities, lead work, deliver results Project management experience or the ability to manage timelines, vendors, & budgets PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Allen-Bradley experience a plus Robotics/automation cell support CAD experience PLC or industrial maintenance certifications WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work in non-climate-controlled production environments with moderate noise levels Prolonged standing/walking/stairs (>90% of shift) and ability to lift up to 50 lbs Must wear PPE in designated areas Pay Range: $100,000 - $125,000 This Job Description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee and may be revised at any time by the Company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree: Engineering, Automation, Electromechanical Technology or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, maintenance, automation, or controls roles

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot & repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, & control systems across the plant
