About The Position

Haxtun Health is looking for a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Assistant I to help keep our hospital facilities, equipment, vehicles, and grounds running safely and efficiently. In this role, you’ll tackle a variety of maintenance, repair, and minor construction tasks, proactively inspect systems, support daily operations, and ensure all work meets safety standards and regulatory codes—making a real difference in the smooth functioning of our facility. Starting Pay Range: $20.16/hr – $26.21/hr, depending on experience Position Status: Full-time, non-exempt Shift: Day (participation in on-call rotation) Shift Differentials: Nights = +10% of base wage (after 6pm), Weekends = +15% of base wage Application Deadline: June 23, 2026. Job Summary: Supports the safe and efficient operation of hospital buildings, grounds, and equipment by assisting with maintenance tasks across multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting. Performs preventative maintenance, inspections, groundskeeping, and equipment movement, while responding to urgent facility needs and emergencies. Maintains accurate work orders and records, collaborates with departments, and follows safety and infection prevention protocols to support overall facility operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with organizational policy and insurance requirements.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years relevant experience
  • Experience in healthcare facility maintenance and plant operations preferred
