About The Position

At SupportWorks, maintenance work isn't just about fixing buildings-it's about supporting people. SupportWorks serves vulnerable neighbors by creating safe, stable housing and meeting people where they are, with dignity and respect. As a Maintenance Apprentice, you'll work side-by-side with experienced maintenance technicians and supervisors, gaining exposure to all aspects of property maintenance while building practical, in-demand skills. Your work will help create safe, clean housing for individuals overcoming homelessness, substance use, and mental health challenges.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year of maintenance or grounds experience
• Valid VA driver's license & reliable transportation
• Positive attitude & willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced maintenance technicians
• Clean and maintain common areas and grounds
• Turn over units (cleaning, painting, minor repairs)
• Complete work orders & preventative maintenance
• Support inspections and identify maintenance needs
• Help ensure building safety systems are functioning properly
