About The Position

The Full Time Maintenance Apprentice role involves working alongside fully qualified maintenance technicians and supervisors, learning maintenance operations and necessary skills to maintain the facility.

Requirements

• High school diploma or educational equivalent
• Minimum one (1) year experience in building and grounds maintenance
• Valid VA Driver's License, clean driving record and dependable transportation
• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn new skills

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wax, buff and seal floors and stairways
• Clean building interiors, offices and common areas
• Maintain grounds, cleaning up debris and removing litter
• Turn over units - cleaning, painting and making repairs
• Complete work orders, minor maintenance repairs, preventive maintenance tasks (filter changes, smoke detector checks, vent cleaning, lighting checks, leak checks, etc.)
• Assist with inspections, reporting violations, discrepancies and damage
• Check that building systems are operating properly - emergency doors, signs and lights and secured areas such as mechanical and storage rooms
• Report tenant concerns and work requests to the Property Manager
