About The Position

The purpose of the Maintenance Apprentice position is to provide on-the-job training for an individual who is interested in a career in the multi-family maintenance field. The incumbent will be provided a structured training program and mentorship to gain knowledge and skills to further their development in maintenance field. This program will include training in all essential functions of position.

Requirements

• Desire to provide excellent customer service skills.
• Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Must be able to life weight in excess of 40 lbs.
• A variety of physical activity required in performing maintenance tasks to include but are not limited to: standing; stooping; bending; crawling; reaching; walking; and climbing stairs.
• Must have a valid driver's license and proof of motor vehicle to be used on premises.

Responsibilities

• Accurately complete maintenance request tickets.
• Perform general repairs; plumbing repairs, carpentry, drywall repairs, general electrical repairs.
• Identify and troubleshoot HVAC issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Apply fair housing and customer service principles.
• Execute apartment make ready/ punch out process.
• Work with property management software system.
• Maintain apartment community grounds and common areas.
• Assist maintenance team with snow removal and other weather/ emergency clean up.
