About The Position

Maintenance Apprenticeship Join a company dedicated to developing Maintenance Technicians with no prior experience! This is a fantastic opportunity to participate in a 90-day paid apprenticeship where you are provided training and comprehensive knowledge of the work that goes into multi-family property maintenance. After you have completed the 90-day paid benefit’s eligible apprenticeship, you will begin a permanent position as a Maintenance Technician I. This will come with a $1,000 bonus for successfully completing the apprenticeship and becoming a permanent FRED employee. The two training locations for the apprenticeship will be in Verona and on the east side of Madison. If you’re ambitious, eager to learn the trades, and looking for a golden opportunity to get your foot in the door, this could be a fit for you! We've been in the industry since 1985 and are growing daily. We have over 38 communities throughout Wisconsin and Illinois with many more in the works, which means the opportunities are endless. We have fantastic opportunities to grow with the company. You’ll be a Tech I with the capability to be promoted to a Tech II, followed by Maintenance Supervisor. If you’re interested in Leadership, the next step is a Regional Maintenance Manager followed by Director of Property Maintenance. The possibilities are endless, and we work tirelessly with our internal teams to train and promote from within. Start Date for Program: Apprentice program will start on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

Requirements

  • A valid drivers license
  • A passion for learning residential maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing your troubleshooting skills to respond and repair a variety of residential service requests.
  • Preparing apartment homes for rent by performing various repairs in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, dry wall, building exteriors, and appliances.
  • Preventative maintenance tasks to eliminate untimely and costly breakdowns in equipment, appliances etc.
  • Bridging the communication between the maintenance team and property manager
  • Accurate documentation of time sheets, daily maintenance logs, and other checklists
  • Assisting groundskeepers in assuring the grounds and common areas are kept up on landscaping and free of trash and debris.
  • Responsible for the proper use of maintenance materials and equipment.
  • During the winter months you will be responsible for assisting with snow removal at property.
  • Consistently maintains a professional, courteous attitude when dealing with residents, coworker and general public, on and off the property in order to positively promote Fiduciary Real Estate Development, Inc.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
