About The Position

The Maintenance and Facilities Specialist works to complete light-duty maintenance and various other tasks in order to ensure the McPherson - Main branch is ready to open and safely operate throughout the week. This position is responsible for maintaining properties and grounds as well as overseeing the janitorial staff and duties of the McPherson locations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of basic facilities and equipment maintenance procedures, knowledge of cleaning equipment usage, knowledge of basic elevator equipment maintenance including fuse boxes, breaker boxes, and knowledge of basic waste disposal procedures
  • 2+ years of custodial or related experience
  • Attention to detail, self-motivation, self-management, problem-solving, efficient time management, good independent judgment related to maintenance and repair and prioritization, maintenance project management, good communication and interpersonal skills, organizational skills, flexibility, and willingness to work with constantly shifting priorities
  • Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly
  • Ability to hear average conversations at a standard level in an office environment around other customers and bank personnel
  • The employee is regularly required to type, stand, walk, as well as lift and carry various items normally not to exceed 70 pounds; occasionally required to move furniture or other large items that weigh over 70 pounds but with the assistance of another person
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to clean, conduct routine maintenance work using various equipment and implements, as well as type and maneuver a mouse
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus with 20/20 vision (with or without the assistance of eyeglasses/contacts)
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds (unassisted) as well as stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat, and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization.
  • Strong numeric capabilities; ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, and the ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies corrected
  • Maintain buildings, offices, and public areas through a preventative maintenance program
  • Maintain grounds by removing snow, salting walkways, painting lines, mowing grass, trimming shrubs, sprinkler system, and other tasks as needed
  • Schedule regular maintenance of bank vehicles - oil changes, tires, gas, etc.
  • Ensure that all maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely, cost-effective manner
  • Replace light bulbs and fuse
  • Clean drive-thru windows, entry-way doors, vault doors, drive-thru tubes, and ATMs as needed
  • Clean drive-thru window at McPherson-North branch location as needed
  • Make recommendations for repairs and improvements
  • Maintain a working knowledge of electrical, breaker boxes, light fixtures, fuse boxes, elevator equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry
  • Prepare the McPherson - Main branch prior to employees arriving by turning on lights, opening doors, making coffee, and checking all areas of the bank for security breaches or concerns
  • Pick up mail from post office daily, sort and deliver to appropriate departments and McPherson locations
  • Keep all beverage supplies stocked in appropriate areas
  • Remove trash and recycle items as needed
  • Set up and arrange tables, chairs, and the necessary equipment to prepare facilities for board meetings or special events
  • Keep paper supply filled in appropriate areas
  • Clean grounds and parking lots of litter, glass, and other debris
  • Collect shred bins and store in the appropriate area, coordinate the monthly shredding
  • Take recycling and trash items to appropriate public waste disposal and recycling facilities
  • Transport various items between McPherson branches as needed
  • Keep appropriate cleaning materials, supplies, tools, and equipment stocked
  • Coordinate the work and oversee the janitorial, maintenance, and repair staff duties, performing those duties as needed or as backup
  • Communicate with management and staff regarding the facility’s needs
  • Make recommendations for repairs and improvements to management
  • Oversee contractors (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) engaged in maintenance of the buildings
  • Manage duties and workflow
  • Organize and stock paper, bank tickets, and supplies
  • Shop for cleaning supplies, drinks, and incidental supplies
  • Keep all bank tickets and envelopes stocked and in appropriate areas
  • Transport miscellaneous items between all bank locations as needed
  • Various other duties as assigned
